La Roche Posay Effaclar Micro-Peeling Purifying Gel 200 ml

I purchased this and after 2 uses got a chemical burn. If you have sensitive skin, avoid! The only reason it’s got 2 stars is because the staff refunded me after I spoke to them about my experience. The pharmacist recommended this product when I went in for advice on skincare.

I have oily but not acne prone skin. I bought this to try and reduce how oily my skin felt during the day. I’ve only used it a few times, but I’ve had a small breakout across my forehead and it’s the only new product in my skincare routine and I previously had all clear skin. In my experience it has worked at reducing the oiliness of my skin, but it’s caused me to breakout. Also, it has a really weird smell. I don’t like the smell at all it’s kind of chemically. I won’t be buying again, I’m going to return to my previous gentle cleanser and put up with the oily skin as at least my skin is clear

Gel consistency but tingles the skin can go on for minutes

The product itself is good and I've used it a lot over the years although do agree with the reviews that it can be quite drying however my main issue is the scent, have they changed the formula as ive never had this issue before? Once the product starts foaming and is applied to the face it smells absolutely awful and leaves a horrible scent when its washed off, I will never buy it again because of this.

Brought this after reading good reviews and it made my skin feel very dry when I first applied it. Only stopped my face from feeling greasy for around 4 hours, it also made the skin under my eye extremely dry, flaky and itchy.
