The performance of the M5 is there, the screen is superb and the battery life more than meets what you expect from a pro laptop. The price remains high, but Apple longevity and the 24 Go of RAM justify the investment over time — far more cost-effective than a Windows replacement every 3 years.

I mainly use it to compile on virtual machines, with Gentoo Linux. It's smooth and fast. I prefer to compare it to my AMD 5950X (32 logical cores), which is a desktop computer. It arrived quickly, and the 14" model is surprisingly slim and light. Coming from the world of PCs, as a first Apple device, I can't help but appreciate the finish of macOS and the physical chassis.
