Lighter than a carton of milk. The 14-inch ExpertBook weighs less than 1000 grams (2.2 lbs) and gets a significant boost in performance this year, thanks to a new Tiger Lake chip. Moreover, the Asus laptop now comes with Thunderbolt 4 instead of Thunderbolt 3 and the display has gotten brighter. This is Asus's best ultrabook to date. It nails many aspects I would want in a modern ultrabook: it's well built and ultralight, it's one of the best performers in its category, it includes one of the larger batteries in its class and doesn't compromise on inputs, IO or features. However, the rather dim matte screen and the lack of any other display option could be deal-breakers for some of you, as well as the choice to go with a quad-core Comet Lake hardware implementation. Don't get me wrong, it performs admirably, but still fades in comparison to the IceLake and six-core Comet Lake hardware you'll get with the competition.
