Pioneer FH-X840DAB Bilstereo Dubbel-DIN Bluetooth, DAB+ Tuner

Got this stereo on sale for around £100. Great price for a great product. I really like customization, as you will see in a pic I managed to find the right colour to match the dashboard colour on my Mazda 2. Installation was easy. However, there was only one concern when I received the item. The box it came in was not sealed nor was there any packaging at all. I collected this stereo from my local Doddle collection point. And I was not really impressed with that. No amazon wrap nor any sort of protection. Also something to bare in mind that it does not come with a remote control nor DAB anthena. These will cost you extra £30ish. Otherwise, great stereo.

I bought this to replace my C-Max radio. Easy to fit and set up with a separate adapter facia. Sound is better than I thought it would be, given that I still have the standard speakers. iPhone connection is easy and hands free calling is clear. Also by downloading the pioneer app it can be controlled via the phone. Other people have commented on not being able to stop the colours scrolling on the display. This is easy to stop and also managed to match my instrument panel lights. Definitely recommend this as a replacement head unit.

Fitted straight into my subaru with no modifications needed

Bought in September 2017, Not a bad radio but have an issue with the Bluetooth connection for hands free. I can call out, but after one received call the subsequent calls are received but the caller and receiver cannot hear each other before the call is disconnected by the radio! Apparently, Motorola phones have an issue with Pioneer radios. Mine worked until Android 7 was downloaded as an upgrade. Pioneer firmware dates back to November 2016 and I think has not kept up with Android updates. My phone works in four different cars, my Tom Tom and a Jabsco visor hands free (which I bought because the hands free bit does not work). No help or response from support either. My phone has been run in safe mode and done a complete back up and reset. Motorola worked with me for 6 weeks to help, Pioneer? three unanswered emails and no response until fitter got me a support number, have I heard anything? Not a chance.

Terrible stereo, even brought upgraded speakers etc but out put is very poor and minimal settings to allow for improvement . . . Waste of money
