Broke after a couple of weeks, replacement sent after a month but there is clearly a weakness in the product as plastic on the replacement has also cracked. Not contacted again as I have to cough up for postage and took a long time. Not very deep either and hard to clean as cheese melts into the coils at the back

This Tefal SM1552 sandwich maker is an excellent toaster. It is solidly built with a nice feel and brushed polished stainless steel/shiny black plastic finish. It takes just under 2 minutes to warm up and requires about 5 minutes for toasting. The finished toastie has a nice crisp brown coating and tastes really nice. I use natural butter to spread on the bread. It can stand upright and has storage for the cable underneath. Most of the Tefal units on Amazon are shipped from Germany. I purchased mine from an English supplier and it had a UK 3 pin fitted.I have only given it 4 stars because the none-stick plates are not removable for cleaning.

Takes absolutely forever to toast the sandwich inside the machine and seems to be made for very small pieces of bread. Also you can't put too much filling inside as machine extremely difficult to close and lock.
