ABUS AirBreaker Metallic Copper är en toppklassad landsvägshjälm som får beröm för sin enastående ventilation och låga vikt. Med Multi-Speed-ventilationssystemet och den öppna bikakestrukturen håller den huvudet märkbart svalare på långa klättringar och heta turer än många konkurrenter i samma kategori. I storlek S väger den runt 200 gram och känns knappt på huvudet, vilket gör den mycket lämpad för långa pass och tävling. Zoom Ace-justeringen och den flytande vadderingen ger de flesta cyklister en tajt men bekväm passform, medan den aerodynamiska formen gör att hjälmen upplevs snabb och tyst i vinden. AirPort-spåren är dessutom praktiska för att förvara glasögonen säkert och aerodynamiskt i skalet. På minussidan lyfter flera tester fram att AirBreaker saknar MIPS eller något annat dedikerat rotationsskydd, vilket kan vara negativt för säkerhetsmedvetna köpare. Wanted a helmet with great air flow and this is perfect. Light, doesn’t look huge and has really effective tightening to fit comfortably and very light.

I bought this after one of the strap clamps on my Cannondale helmet snapped, rendering it difficult to wear comfortably. The Airbreaker is a nice fit & comfortable, and after trying MANY different helmets, this is the first I found that didn't interfere with the top of my Sungod glasses (other makes were pressing down on the top of glasses frame causing discomfort and pushing the glasses into a less than optimal position, rendering them useless. Only minor niggle is that my previous helmet came with a detachable plastic cover which covered over a lot of the air vents for winter riding, but a thick neck tube should suffice?

Helmet sizing/fit is very much down to individual preference/dimensions so it’s not that this helmet is bad it just didn’t suit my head shape. The lack of adjustability of the straps meant that I couldn’t make this a comfortable fit. I typically use kask helmets as the fit suits me and I have gone back to this brand only for that reason. Otherwise it’s a great looking helmet.
