Guerlain Eau de Cologne Impériale är en klassisk citruskolonn byggd kring bergamott, citron och neroli, med lavendel, tonkaböna och trä i basen. Doften får mycket beröm för sin mycket fräscha, rena och tidlösa karaktär och är tydligt unisex. Många bär den främst i varmt väder eller som en uppfriskande splash för att pigga upp sig, ibland även vid lätt huvudvärk. Samtidigt är det viktigt att komma ihåg att detta är en äkta eau de cologne: hållbarheten på huden är begränsad, och flera recensioner klagar på att den till stor del är borta efter 15–60 minuter om man inte sprayar på mer. Den tydliga citronkaraktären upplevs som sprudlande och klar av fans, men vissa tycker att den blir för endimensionell eller för lik lukten av rengöringsmedel. Kompositionen är medvetet enkel och inte särskilt komplex, vilket passar bra om du vill ha något lätt och direkt fräscht, men mindre bra om du förväntar dig en djup, långvarig parfymupplevelse.

The scent is a lovely light and refreshing, doesn't last as long as other colognes. It would be nice to get an eau de toilette I use it every day. Bottle finished just bought another.,Bottle is beautiful to look at. I've given four stars based on the fragrance not lasting long.

I always wear this cologne and stock up whenever there is a discount. I struggle with perfumes as so many are too overpowering for me, this is beautiful, light and fresh. It would be five stars if it had just a little more staying power.

L'eau Imperial is the most amazing scent. It has citrus and bergamot tones and is my very favourite perfume atm. It was apparently made for Empress Eugenie wife of Napoleon 111. I was thrilled to see that John Lewis stocked it after doing a number of searches. It's a very refreshing scent and appeals to both men and women. I won't go out without it on!

This is certainly the 2nd best Eau de Cologne I have ever bought, sadly in 1st place was one called Eau de Frivole by Givenchy which I bought directly from Fragonard, Grasse France in 1973 but is no longer made. I would not hesitate to recommend Guerlains Imperiale Eau de Cologne, surely the cream of the crop!
