Urrggh, this is SOOOOO cloying, I want to puke! It seems that cloying sweetness is the signature for Montales. Sure you can smell the medicinal aoud in this one but only for the first 30 minutes as the rose pleasantly plays peekaboo with you, whispering sweet nothings about a fairytale trip ahead.... which you soon realize is a trick because once your blindfolds come off, you find yourself at yet the same destination of Montales- The lands of giant, screaming candy coated cloy fests!

After few trials i must say this is medicinal all the way from start to drydown, no flowers or talcom or vanilla on me, like the othrer reviewer said - " hospital".

This gorgeous perfume is my wintertime love affair. I think this wraps you up in the most wonderful aroma . When I first got a sample , it permeated the whole package. I had to give it several wearings to fall in love. When it finally overtook me I was humbled that I had tried to fend off such a beautiful fragrance. When it finally shipped to me from Paris through Canada I was thrilled to have it for my own. I will always sing it's praises.

Sharp, musty, true Oud in the beginning, just tinted with roses. Dries down rapidly to powdery talcum powder roses, minus wood,oud or anything to lift it out of the grandma's powder box category. This one failed utterly on me. Upside is that it wasn't hideous or traumatizing. But boring isn't much better, I'm afraid.

Aoud is difficult- it's so in your face at first spray and abit strange , I know - it's nearly alarming. White Aoud is gentler on the Aoud but it is beautiful .I don't know why Aoud smells so familiar to me- it's a sense of having smelt this before - and maybe I have ,on someone in the mall, on the street or on the tube. Definitely unisex ( more male actually ) and dry. This is a beautiful composition. Chic, elegant and languid. Definitely sample first because Montales are expensive especially their Aoud line and Aoud is an acquired taste. I actually prefer this one to Red Aoud ( got some clove in Red Aoud ) which I gave 5 stars so I guess this is 6 stars. If your skin eats perfume - this will last a long time on your skin. One or two sprays is sufficient for hours.
