I can't complain TOO much because this is a very cheap 2TB drive, and I wasn't expecting SSD speed... but this thing is ridiculously slow. I bought it to store my development projects on, and even simple file searches are tedious now. The worst part however, is if you accidentally remove the drive prior to safely unmounting it (which happens all the time)... Mac OS will have to run an error check on the drive before you can even access it, which has taken several hours. Time that I am forced to sit here writing angry Amazon reviews while I wait. Long story short - if you don't need this drive for anything critical like I do, it would probably be just fine. I cannot recommend it for any kind of development work though.

Do not buy. Not rugged, not functioning after 2 months. Just clicks and clicks and clicks. Piece of garbage.

3 problems with this drive. 1 of them was my fault... I was looking for an SSD so I searched "1TB portable SSD" on Amazon. THIS 2 TB HD was the 3rd suggestion to come up. I misread the description thinking it was a Solid State Drive so I was pretty disappointed when I opened it and found it to be a spinning HD, but for only $76 I figured "what the heck, I can always use another 2TB drive for backup". After plugging it in, the USB-C connector was VERY loose, but that didn't matter because the drive failed to even mount, even after a cold restart of my computer. Returning immediately. One star.
