Having found myself doing all the gardening, I was experiencing problems with the petrol mower starting it and manoeuvring it around. So I looked for an easier and lightweight mower. This one is great, it is easy to charge and change the batteries and to use it, it is lightweight and simple to use. I am so pleased I bought it as it will make my gardening life a lot better. I am an older lady nearing 70's.

Underpowered when compared to the petrol lawnmower it replaces so have to have the blade a notch higher otherwise motor cuts out. However no problem starting, much lighter to manouver and easier to store so overall pleased with it. I have given it a low rating only because the handle doesn't come with the quick release screws half way up the handle. The normal screw release is very difficult to undo. The pictures still show the quick release so is advertised incorrectly.

Hallelujah! A battery operated mower that's as good as an electric one - well done Black & Decker!

Great lawn mower, had my last one for 18 years, hope this one will last as long. Putting it all together was a bit of a pain, especially the grass box but I got there in the end and am highly delighted with my purchase.Would definitely recommend this mower, easy to use and gives good results.

This mower is very good. As predicted by other reviewers I found the assembly of the grass box very awkward, but managed it eventually. You've got to get a ridge on one side into a slot on the other which would be easy if all the straight lines were indeed straight. Battery life seems adequate for my purposes, but it depends how you use it. One battery lasted for my 2 main lawns, about 300 square metres, which needed a trim but were not overly long. The front verge, about 40 square metres, had got very long and starting on the highest setting then reducing to a lower one, took 2 batteries worth of charge. Long grass uses power much more quickly. When the battery is discharged, you've obviously been using it and it's a bit warm. You can't put it to recharge until it cools down a bit.
