I should have taken the words of my predecessors seriously. I love wood-dominated fragrances and bought Bentley for Men Absolute based on the positive reviews. It is not only woody, but above all dust-dry. In fact, it strongly reminds me of a dusty cellar on a hot summer day, where the sawdust has been lying untouched for decades. This is not meant as criticism - I can actually find something beautiful and intriguing about the scent. But it is quite extreme. The sweetness is at 0% and the dryness at 100%. Interesting fragrance, even though the dusty note is a bit overwhelming.

Herbal and aromatic. Not particularly boozy, which I expected based on the notes listed on the website, but instead a unique, slightly astringent scent. This is the scent of a modern herbal witch (and part-time bartender, perhaps, or maybe she just enjoys the occasional gin cocktail). Intriguing but not something I see myself getting much use out of.

Bentley Absolute is a fragrance with niche quality and an absolute steal for the price. It's like a combination of the resinous elements of Armani's Bois d'Encens and the sweet and aldehydic notes of 2 Man. While I haven't tried Gucci PH, I can say that this fragrance stands out on its own. The only downside is its longevity; it settles down too quickly. However, due to its affordable price, you can reapply generously. Overall, a great fragrance that's worth checking out.
