The oud blast at the start is obvious, and, yes, a rose comes with it, surprise, surprise! The rose is actually the more interesting part here. Whilst the oud is clearly a creature of laboratory chemistry, the rose, in all its darkness, is well executed, and reminds me a bit of a less nuanced version of the rose in Chanel's great Egoïste. The drydown adds a bit of geranium and whiffs of carnation, but these florals are rather perfunctory on me. There are also some wood notes, mainly guaiac, taek, but more prominently, a slightly dried honey note. The base continues the oud theme. This oud is never very shrill but quite harsh initially, clearly based on a set of dark musks amongst other components. I get moderate, excellent projection and seven hours of longevity on my skin. A pleasant autumn creation, quite well crafted, not very original and a bit generic at times. The rose is nice. 2.75/5

After sniffing through a few Aoud fragrances from Montale, I must say this one is my favorite. Although I find the name a bit misleading. In fact, there isn't much to notice from the "Flowers"; they fade away after a while, or rather, they recede into the background so much that they are more to be sensed than smelled. The various woods come to the forefront so strongly that nothing remains of the little flowers, and the musk keeps everything nice and soft and creamy; I couldn't perceive the bitterness that my predecessors mentioned here. The scent accompanied me throughout a whole workday and was still noticeable at home in the evening, without reapplying, mind you! Although I thought that overly woody fragrances wouldn't suit me, this one proved me wrong. Definitely worth a test!

I like this, I like this very, very much. It is clearly a unisex and would be suited for females with no doubt. The rose and aoud combo is lovely, geranium gives this green and interesting edge making me want to sniff this all the time. Of course as usually with Montale's rose-aoud perfumes - silage and longevity is superb. Unfortunately it is way too sharp for the first hour, such a pity, but I would never wait an hour for a perfume to get wearable for me. Yes, it is very beautiful for the first hour as well, but because of the monster silage and sharpness I had to keep my wrist way away from my nose as I did not want to sneeze all the time.
