Rabanne Paco Rabanne Pour Homme EDT 100 ml

One thing I’ll always give Henry Jacques: the names are incredible. They already set a mood. Et pourtant does exactly that, there’s nostalgia in the name, and you actually smell it. On skin, it opens with a classic bergamot–lavender combo. Clean, elegant, very old-school. It doesn’t stay there long before sliding into what really defines it: a leather-leaning chypre base. Very vintage, very masculine, very well executed. But if you’ve been collecting HJ for a while, this is where it starts to feel familiar. Most of their masculine releases sit in that same fougère–chypre space. Et pourtant is done perfectly, no doubt about it, but it also feels redundant. Like a variation on a theme you already know by heart. That’s why it doesn’t hit me the way N°9 d’Igor does. N°9 still gives me goosebumps. There’s more tension, more emotion. Et pourtant feels more like a memory replayed than a memory rediscovered. I like it. I respect it. It just doesn’t move me as much as I wanted it to.

It opens up with slightly sweet fresh spicy , citrusy , floral and green notes in the background then dry down is semi sweet musky woody. The Orange Blossom and Basil notes are dominant in this perfume. This is perfect for the spring and summer, l'm so happy that I have it in my collection. Longevity is Average. Rating : 7.5 / 10

Right off the bat, I love this entire line. The current EdT is among my most worn fragrances. A 200 ml backup is already at home. I also got a vintage bottle from the early 2000s. I wanted the After Shave as well. As an addition. So today, to celebrate the day, I treated myself to a nice wet shave and as a crowning finish, this AS. Much more alcoholic than the EdT. At least at the beginning. Then the vintage PRpH punch comes through. Green, mossy, incredibly spicy and aromatic. Very, very soapy. What a great AS. The performance is really good for an After Shave. It was noticeable for an entire morning. Then it became noticeably weaker. When you choose the combination of the EdT and the AS, you get an enhanced version of both waters. The AS smells slightly different, but only marginally. A great addition for fans of the original (EdT) version. I will continue to use both and wear them separately. But also in combination. It's just wonderful to still find something like this.
