Zhiyun Smooth-Q3 Combo stabilization is really smooth and its build quality feels premium for a mid-range model. Fill Light is a neat addition, especially if you shoot in low light. Battery life is good, usually getting me through a full day of shooting.

However, bugs, frustrations, and some restrictions with the Smooth Q3 need to be weighed against the various improvements made. Many of these stem from optional ZY Cami app implementations, so you can opt out of those if desired. Overall, it depends on how much you value its usability improvements and the benefit of an adjustable light source for your shots. Still, for many, the Smooth Q3 will offer an enticing, accessible package, albeit not a perfect one.
