I purchased the monopod because my wrist is very arthritic and it takes the weight of my heavy camera and lens combo. It is well made and easy to use and allows for different threads.

This is a monopod which I bought for hiking, nature photography, and steadying a long lens. It's great. Even better is that I couldn't work out how to fit the 1/4" screw on top into the smaller hole on my camera. (Please don't laugh, I know this is basic) I wrote to the Help section of Web and got a response. How good is that? Wex is an excellent camera dealer.

I use this with the 494 ball head and works well, the compactness meaning that you don't look too much like an infantry radio operator when it is strapped to your backpack! Early days but seems well built. The penalty for compactness is overall height. On ground that is falling quickly away from you you may be wishing for a bit more length but the compactness wins in my view.
