Great build quality as all Manfrotto products I've owned. Glad I went with the short handle as it's not a hindrance to adjust quickly and out of the way. On my Induro Stealth GIT504L there's a smidge of clearance at it's lowest setting and all legs retracted. Enough of a smidge so I can get an adjustment. Not that I shoot that low but if I have to nice to know it's an option available.

Very well built! Strong, sturdy, great construction. I am using this at the end of my jib. When our jib is fully loaded and we move it from spot to spot...sometimes use lose being level. The only way to level it would be to take most of it apart and re-level the tripod...not very practical. With this half-ball, all I have to do is re-level at the point of the camera with takes about 20 seconds tops!

It does what I need it to do... Replace an old and damaged 100 half-ball. The change out was simple and the new piece is very solid. No concerns that it can handle the higher weight loads I shoot with. Only reason its not a 5 star is the tiedown handle. At times it can be difficult to grip and tighten compared to the models that have fingers. But that is very minor overall.
