Sirui Horizontal Arm HA-77 tripod

Solid build with secure locking make this a very functional tool. I was a bit concerned that the tilt angle adjustment mechanics might not be sound and secure. One in hand it was evident they are well designed & built.

We do a lot of food photography and this arm is perfect! It's sturdy and professional, with lots of features that I couldn't find combined in any other product. Simple to set up - depending on the weight of my DLSR and lens, I counterbalance it with a small sandbag (or bag of rice!). There's a hook for that too! Love the measurement markers on the tubes and tilt control for when I want to duplicate the height of a shot. When I tighten it down, it feels secure and stable.

For shooting overhead product/food photography, this is perfect. The build is solid, just like the Sirui tripod. Withstands heavy use and travel (don't throw away the styrofoam packing insert; this comes in handy for traveling).

The horizontal arm is mounted on a large (and old) Bogen Mod. 3050 tripod. We're using it as a copy stand to photograph large historical documents and objects.
