If you plan on investing in a fixed-blade which will outlast even the coming zombie apocalypse, then you've made the right choice. I have been able to fell decent sized trees, shave down kindling into fire tender, and open a can of campbell's chunky when a can opener was nowhere on the trail. While these various functions are excellent, you really just want this knife because of the look. The dark earth handle attached to a black serrated blade looks quite impressive when strapped to the hip.
