Hoka One One Men's Mafate X Black/Skyward Blue

Sad day… I loved the previous generation of these and ran a lot of miles in them. Bummer they changed the tongue to the stiff flat flap. It’s the reason I went with the Mafate trail runners vs the Speedgoat a few years ago. Was ready to buy these but ended up going with the new mount to coast shoes.

Narrow across the forefoot and even narrower tor box. Too little room in the toe box for long mileage runs

I love these shoes. Comfy, lots of cushion, and tons of grip.

Just finished the Arizona Trail- 800 miles of rocky rugged terrain. The shoes were VERY comfortable. Unfortunately the terrain was too much for the soles. Despite having Vibram soles, I needed 3 pairs for the distance. Broken shards of rocks everywhere tore up the soles and ground down the lugs in about 250 miles. They would be great for easier terrain but not up to their challenge.

AMAZING and SO CUTE! I purchased these for a technical 21K trail race. They felt extremely comfortable right out of the box. Great stability and super grippy. I had to exchange them for 1/2 size smaller than my Speedgoats, Machs, Mach Xs and the Cielo X1. I am guessing these are a bit wider because they are designed for longer distances.
