Hoka One One M Speedgoat 7 Wide Black/White

NOT TRUE TO SIZE. I have had speedgoats for years, always an 8, bought the 8 and took them out for a trail run and my toes were hitting the front, so disappointed as I just had trust they were right and now they're worn and I'm stuck with them! Hope this helps someone not waste their money too.

This shoe is extremely disappointing and poor quality. I bought a pair of Speedgoat 7s to hike the WA portion of the PCT. Less than 250 miles in, the completely disintegrated. The entire toe box split apart on the right shoe and two holes appeared on the left. I had to hold the shoes together through a combination of stitches and several types of tape until I could get to my next resupply, where I had my spouse ship me my old trail runners to finish off my hike. My old shoes were Speedgoat 5s, and while they had several hundred miles on them (which is why I had gotten new shoes for my trek), they were much more durable and able to finish off the remaining 150 miles. It is unacceptable for trail runners to last less than 250 miles, when 500 miles or more is standard. After experiencing how flimsy these shoes are, I will not be purchasing Hoka's again. Hoka moved away from a comfortable and durable model (the 5s) to a nonfunctional shoe.

In short: The HOKA Speedgoat 7 ( men’s , women’s , $165) is a responsive yet protective trail running shoe with an extremely grippy outsole. It’s ideal for mid- to ultra-distance trail runs and races on moderately technical trails. It’s earned a spot at myriad starting lines and is worth considering for any serious trail runner. While the toebox is medium to narrow, it runs true to size.

First pair I've owned. Went on a 66-mile PCT hike FS23 to White Pass-through Goat Rocks. These shoes did great, no problems. I am normally a size 10. I would recommend sizing up 1/2 size. The toe box is adequate but smaller than I would prefer. I believe by sizing up I would have not had some big toenail damage. They offered good support and no other issues.

Great fit, comfort snd support! The Vibram soles are awesome on trails!
