Overall a good quality shoe. The way they redesigned the back heal of the shoe the gator goes down most of the way to the heal which makes it slippery especially the first few times wearing the shoes. Initially went up a half size as recommended (8.5) and had to re-order to get my correct size (8) to help with the slipping. I wish they had stuck with the peg trail 4 instead of redesigning. I will be interested to test these out in the rail/weather to see if they are as water proof with the free tongue and lower gator on the shoes. Overall no real break in period as they were comfortable out of the box.

I’d like to write a review of the shoe however REI has shipped them with OnTrac? Reviews of this shipper is highly negative and I agree. Never showed up and lots of reports of “lost” (stolen) packages. Likely shipped in their original box, how are these not getting stolen? Now out of stock as well. CS says call in your order and ask for different shipper which at that point totally negates on line shopping convenience. I’ll be shopping elsewhere

Shoes have amazing cushion. Traction is better than expected. Toe box is roomy, but they are tight across the top of my foot. Feels like it’s actually the seam from the GoreTex liner at about the middle of the tongue. Seems to be better when standing, walking, running…so I’m hoping they break in some. Wore them for a workout this rainy morning and they performed great with no discomfort so I’m hopeful!

Great road to trail running shoe. And looks great! Runs a bit small and narrow. Ordering half size up from my usual size worked for me.
