AKG C414XL II Kondensatormikrofon

I am a male vocalist. I record pop vocals (tenor range) going through the Apollo MKII. I am loving this mic. It gives me all the detail i need and retains the grit in my voice while getting rid of the annoying 1.5-2KHZ nasal sound. I highly recommend this mic to any vocalist who is willing to drop a few more bucks to get a pro level mic sound. I personally recommend it over the Neumann TLM series. As a subjective note: The shape of the mic offers a comfort level when singing at close range. Steve C.

While I was in the recording arts program at Chico state, the AKG C414 XLII 9 Pattern Condenser Vocal Microphone (Item # 76660) was my go to mic. It's an extremely reliable mic that can be used on just about anything. I used these for guitar overdubs, stereo pairs for piano, and vocals. I like to describe the AKG 414's as having a clean, bright, accurate sound.

Excellent in all situations, ambient and room, direct in front of pretty much any source. I use my two sets of matched pairs mostly on toms..smooth and accurate..my go to tom mics

Clear and accurate representation of the sound source, flexibility with the different polar patterns, quality pop filter and shockmount. What more could you ask for in a microphone?

Had my eye on this mic for 2 years and finally bit the bullet. It makes all the difference on my tracks. Vox cut right through and shine like a diamond just like rhianna says. I can now actually hear what those cool ez mix vocal effects do!! Bye bye muffled mixes! Worth every penny eveytime.
