Product failed when installed in my computer. An occasional failure can be expected. Tried twice to contact the vendor. Had to leave a message both times. They never returned the call. So I returned the module and bought another one elsewhere

This experience proves that you should pay what deserve, otherwise it probably fails to work. My desktop could recognize this memory DDR3 in the system but not in the real function. If I remove other memory DDR3, the desktop just beeped and couldn't process furthermore. Don't buy it, otherwise, you have to return it or throw it away, totally waste time.

I have a computer that I set up by putting together various components. I recently noticed I only had one RAM module, so I bought another one. It's working well.

The reason why this RAM doesn't work in your PC's is because it is server memory (ECC Registered). Your systems that fail to boot with this installed require non-ECC Registered RAM. When buying anything with a technical specification on Amazon, especially computer related products, take the product number ASN, ASIM, part #, etc. and do a quick interwebs search to get all the details directly from the manufacturer or a reputable source that doesn't fail to list MAJOR details about their products on Amazon.

Seems to work in my DL380p Gen8. But the system complains about it every POST. EVENT (19 Aug 15:47): POST Information: Processor x, DIMM x could not be authenticated as genuine HP SmartMemory. Enhanced and extended HP SmartMemory features will not be active. Integrated Management Log Severity: INFORMATIONAL Server Model: DL380p Gen8 System ROM: P70 05/21/2018
