Synology DS423 är en pålitlig NAS för hemmabrukare och små kontor som vill ha stabil lagring och enkel åtkomst. Prestandan räcker för vanliga uppgifter, men avsaknaden av snabbare nätverksportar och expansionsmöjligheter kan begränsa krävande användare. Den användarvänliga DSM-programvaran och fyra disklådor gör den attraktiv för grundläggande lagring, men begränsat RAM och saknade multimediafunktioner är tydliga nackdelar. För enkel, central lagring är detta ett bra val.

Installing the hard drives in the product is very simple. It's also easy to access the interface via a browser. Getting to grips with the various applications and the menu in general takes a little time for the novice but does not require any particular technical skills. The TV (LG G2) immediately recognised the server. Be patient, though, as files need to be archived so that they can be viewed externally, and if you have old video files, the synology player (or some TVs like mine) may not play them, so you need to convert these files, for example to mp4.

Uppgraderade från en modell från 2013 och skillnaden är enorm. Speciellt som jag köpte 16GB extra RAM och tryckte i den - det finns inte stöd för det officiellt och alla RAM-stickor funkar inte, men det finns också inofficiella listor på RAM som funkar. Många appar som sagt, och även stöd för docker. Har installerat pi-hole och njuter av ett internet med lite mindre reklam hemma.

it's the cheapest synology DS and it suits me. I was able to recover my data from my completely rubbish DS418 NAS. the other models are too expensive

I got this as my current NAS was having issues and wanted to move the data before I lost it all. Quick to set up and very easy to do. Once you download the DSM you get a great UI and look. There are phone apps available to allow the access via tablet or phone. Plex compliance allows you to easy set up a home media server as well.

Good Points: So much quicker than the old My Cloud. And stays connected. Given 10 for reliability, but only 2 weeks in, so don't really know Improvement Points: Matt finish feels a bit plasticky.
