The extender is great, but considering what you get for your money, a small bit of optical glass stuck between a ring of metal, it is grossly overpriced. The only advantage it has is that it saves you having to carry an extra lens in your bag when outside, and that was the reason I bought it, and for that reason it is a good addition to your kit.

I have a Canon R7 camera and RF 100 to 400 lens, I wanted a little extra distance without a bigger heavier lens, the RF 1.4 extender has provided this, its small enough to put in the pocket, lighter enough on the camera to leave on and magnification is very clear.

The first thing you notice is how over packaged it is, the box is 3 times the height of the extender. You also need to check if it's compatible with the lenses you want to use with it, as, very surprisingly, it's not compatible with all RF lenses. Operationally, it seems to do the job quite well, at least for my amateur purposes.
