I have been running this CPU for 6 weeks or so after upgrading from a i7 9700k. It is very power hungry for gaming. It's drawing between 60-80 watts extra from the 9700k. 173 watts gaming at 165 hz at 2k with a 4070 ti. It draws almost as much as the GPU!!!!

This thing runs like a rocket and stays at around 38 degrees when water cooled. Lovely to see 16 cores running under task manager!!!

Easy to overclock cpu getting 5.6ghz on all performance cores was very easy done. No trouble keeping it cool

On Auto settings with XMP enabled the Core i7 draws the same power as the Core i9, despite having fewer cores that run at a slower clock speed. The consequence is that while the Core i9 runs at a temperature close to 90 degrees C when the CPU is fully loaded, we instead see the Core i7 hitting 99 degrees and then throttling slightly.
