Bought this radio for my elderly parents. Wanted something very easy to use as my Mom's eyesight is poor. They love it! The Sony radio in background is mine. . This Sangean radio's sound and volume is comparable with a better "stereo" sound. The powerful sound coming out of this unit surprised me! The retro look is great!!

Nice looking radio but I wish it had a adjustable tone . It is rather on the "Base" side of tone and with my ears I can hear it but I have to pay sharp attention to follow all of a spoken program . I purchased it because another radio which I had did not hold a station signal well. I appreciate that this radio is Sangean's lower priced model but it is no better at picking up a signal than the radio that I replaced . An older Japanese radio that I have in my camper is way better at reception and sound quality .
