Fits perfectly well in the Vangard 46 case. Just a small issue, if the insert is not zip closed (2 zips), they will be stuck when you close the case.

I bought 2 of these 46s Inserts primarily to store Canon 5D IV and lens in one and MFT gear in the other in my home closet. I bought this size to be able to fit in a Vanguard hard case for secure travel. I like the dividers better than the foam that came with the hard case. Well constructed and very flexible. Very satisfied with Vanguard quality; and as always with B&Hs customer service

This is designed to be an insert for a hard case but works well as a standalone. As others have pointed out, it fits (snugly) inside a standard 21" roller carry on for air travel and longer car trips. Plenty of protection when used this way. Mine is configured to hold two dslr bodies, seven lenses including a 100-400, a speed light, hoods and various odds and ends. The top zippered compartment holds cleaning supplies and filters. It is well made but soft sided all around. Fully packed mine weighs close to 19 pounds. I was concerned that it would not be sturdy enough but it handles the weight well. I don't think it would stand up well to rugged daily use but it suits my needs just fine. And at a very friendly price.
