Ubiquiti Nanostaion M Locom5 Wifi-åtkomstpunkt

I bought this so that I would have better WIFI in my backyard. I started to install this product, and I have a background in Network Engineering, and while the interface was straight forward the instructions were severely lacking. After contacting technical support (no help) and watching several YouTube Videos, I finally was comfortable that I had all the settings right. But for some reason (still undiscovered) the wireless radio would not activate providing something to connect to. When I contacted support, I realized that this product is actually old enough that it really isn't directly supported by the Manufacturer any longer. I was never able to make this product work, had to box it back and send it back to Amazon. This product may be a great choice if you are tech savvy and to use for a point to point solution (what it was originally designed to do). But as a wireless Access Point, I cannot recommend this product at all.

Do what is built for, very nice for networking be careful wit the firmware upgrade if u know what ure doing good otherwise for ure knowledge when u trying to do an upgrade it takes u to the ubiqui web not straight to the bin file so you have to choose ure device type to get the correct firmware upgrade

These work great for several months at a time and then I have to factory reset them and reconfigure. I have no idea why but they just stop passing traffic to the remote side beyond the radio even though it can ping the other side. Ubiquiti products are really nice but they are high maintenance. It takes a lot of time to troubleshoot and reconfigure when things go wrong. For the price it should be rock solid.

I have purchased three of these. Two for a wireless bridge and one for an access point. I have had the bridge for about six years and it works flawlessly. In my opinion, Ubiquiti makes top of the line products which are very powerful and reliable. If you know a little about networking, it makes for an easier setup.

I used these as a wifi bridge to extend my network to an outbuilding over 400 feet away. Set up was simple and they function very well with little to no loss of speed.
