Epson WorkForce DS-6500 A4 Scanner [10kg]

very interesting to have a scanner like this, it can make my work more faster than before.

I bought this unit plus the network (ethernet) interface back in December 2013. It worked well on our Mac network until March 2018, when all of a sudden it would not scan no matter what we tried to do to fix it. We have a need for a network scanner to serve multiple users for relatively light overall use, however, we seldom used the flatbed scanning function. It did okay scanning photos, but figuring out how to change the settings from document scans to photo scans was a challenge. I suppose we could send this unit in for repair but for the shipping & repair cost, we're better off just buying something else. Considering that my little Fujitsu scanner that I bought 10 years ago is still going strong, it goes without saying that I was disappointed that this unit didn't last near as long as it should have, especially considering the large investment that we made in it. I would not purchase this unit again.

A workhorse...very good if there is a heavy duty use. The price of this machine has gone up considerably (doubled) in last 5 years.

This is not a quality product compared with the Brother Scanner or the Fujitsu Scanners. I don't write reviews but I purchased this scanner and it was antiquated in software approach and mechanics. It was very slow. I returned it and got a different scanner for half the price. I was very disappointed and believe Epson needs pubic ridicule for this product so they can change it. It is outdated all around.

This arrived with the USB port not working, we are still awaiting for collection from 11th November 2016, so that a replacement can be ordered. Maybe this will get some notice.
