The Garmin Forerunner 955 Solar is a brilliant triathlon watch that offers more accurate heart rate sensor and GPS chip than the Forerunner 945 for almost the same price. The new features make the watch a versatile training partner; a shame it can't measure running power without any external sensors.

I bought this as my very first smart watch, I'm using mostly for daily cycling and training for IronMan. The watch is super light, you forget to have it on your wrist, it give you lot of data and the morning report is an extra touch that I love. Highly recommend if you are a sport person. In summery is basically the rolex of the sportwatches!!!

I recently upgraded from a Forerunner 255, mainly for the full mapping, and I am very happy with it. The solar charging noticeably slows down battery drain. Take care with your initial setup though. Everything can be customised, and there were some strange default settings which directly affected the watch's core function. For example, Sleep mode was set to go into Battery Saver mode by default, which in turn was set to disable the HR monitor. This affected the watch's sleep tracking, HRV monitoring, recovery time recommendations, and suggested training! Now that I've made the necessary changes, with help from Garmin forums and help chat, all is working as it should be.

Out of the box was able to see the manufacturing quality right away. Long life battery, awesome display and incredibly light on weight Watch combines great looks with pretty much all the features needed for an active lifestyle across all activities ( running, traik, hiking, walking, crosstraining, HIIT, etc). Highly recommend it, either if your a seasoned Garmin user or first time buyer...you won't regret it.
