I had an old hob (probably 30+ years old) and some buttons had stuck and the system wouldn't light and had to be disconnected from the mains. I needed a new hob and actually purchased a second hand unit (nearly new) only to discover a fault on that too but only after fitting (it was a Bosch). So I wanted another Bosch so fitting would be easy. This looked much nicer and was in the right price region and works really well.
