The Breville Soft Top Luxe is a great kettle - it feels solid and is quick to boil. A great upgrade from our previous kettle, however, the bell that rings to notify you the water has boiled can sometimes ring when picking up or putting the kettle back on the base.

We were looking for a new kettle for our new home. As soon as we saw the Breville Soft Top Luxe we were immediately drawn to its elegant style, it stood out from other kettles on display and the satin black finish looks brilliant in our predominantly white kitchen. The other feature we were looking for in the kettle was quiet operation, but as we couldn't test that, we bought it on looks and perceived quality of the Breville brand. We were delighted to find, when we first used it, that it was considerably quieter than any previous electric kettle we have owned, so we are extremely happy with our new purchase.
